This official sketch previews the 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and 2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 that will debut at Intermot Cologne on October 5.
What we’re looking at is a relatively minor facelift. The biggest visual changes are the four new air intakes stacked to the sides of the now slimmer headlamp. That headlamp now uses stacked high and low beams, moving the 600 and 750 visually closer to the 1000. This is no coincidence as the ’11 600/750 identical twins were designed by Shigeru Uchiyama, the same guy who penned the 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Motorcycle Performance - NCR Leggera 1200 Special
Posted by sultan
With the NCR Leggera 1200 Special, Ducati tuner NCR is setting two firsts with its titanium clad Hypermotard. Known for making gorgeous work out of already gorgeous motorcycles (NCR Corse Millona One Shot anyone?), none of LCR’s prior creations are destined for a life of street use, and come absent of any lights, mirrors, etc. However, the NCR Leggera 1200 Special is the first NCR that comes out of the crate street legal, and oh…it’s also the lightest Hypermotard in existence, dropping 125 lbs off the stock Ducati Hypermotard…it’s not bad looking either.
Coming with the usual NCR look and feel, the NCR Leggera 1200 Special is based of the Hypermotard 1100, and comes with a titanium frame that weighs only 10.6 lbs, just like the NCR Leggera. Other trick bits include the carbon-ceramic brakes and carbon bodywork and wheels. But while the base NCR Leggera comes with a stock DS 1100 motor, the NCR Leggera 1200 Special features a completely re-worked motor from NCR Corse.
To achieve the extra “umpf”, NCR has two motor tune packages for the Leggera. The Big Bore Kit takes the 1100cc motor and bumps it up to 1160cc’s, which is good for 125 hp. However, real go-fast enthusiasts will want the full NCR Corse engine treatment, which really puts the “Special” in the NCR Leggera 1200 Special’s name.
As you might have guessed, displacement gets pushed further up into the 1200cc range, while titanium valves and other work put the maximum horsepower figure at 132 hp. The need for speed won’t be cheap though, as the NCR Leggera 1200 Special costs an additional arm and leg over the $72,000 price tag of the base Leggera.

Motorcycle Performance - Ramera by Ferry Clot

The Spanish king of custom bike builders, Ferry Clot, can’t stay away for long without astonishing us with his buzzing exhibits of great detail. The winner of the 2009 world championship custom, Ferry Clot after making Panafina almost touch the ground even with its 23? wheels is back with his latest creation named Ramera. The customized bike exhibits a great amount of detail with its Retrofuturo, S & S Engine 96 with system feeding a two-carburetor double body. The rear tire from a mega 360 could hardly go unnoticed and also the fact that a side stand would be rendered useless. Priced at $190,000, the Ramera can be seen on sale in Ferry Clot’s custom shop, Hot Dreams.

Motorcycle Performance Roland Sands XR1200
Posted by sultan
Setting out to transform the flat track-influenced Harley XR1200 into a superbike, Matte black with a grey powdercoated frame and gloss black highlights, this bike is remarkably restrained for the typically flashy Roland.
The forks are Ohlins, orginally designed for a GSX-R while the rear shock and linkage are from a Ducati. The single-sided swingarm and tail unit are custom fabricated and the wheels, wearing a two-tone black finish Roland calls "Tuxedo Black," are out of the RSD catalog.

All these changes should ad up to a Harley that handles like a Buell, while the looks are at once Harley, but also totally contemporary thanks to the addition of strong mechanical components, aggressive angles and simple surfaces. The overall effect kinda imagines an alternate present in which Harley still honors its heritage without the shameless laziness of continuous copying.

Motorcycle Performance Triumph Bonneville Tridays Edition
Posted by sultan
Tridays mastermind, Uli Brée, and LSL boss, Jochen Schmitz-Linkweiler, got together to design a beautiful TRIDAYS LIMITED EDITION bike (only 20 in existence!). It quickly became clear that both of them have very similar tastes when it comes to the design for their motorbikes. With the good friendship that had developed in recent years, it was in the cards that they would ultimately customize a Triumph that reflected their shared vision. The result was a typical Uli Brée Triumph and a typical Jochen Schmitz-Linkweiler Clubman. A magnificent symbiosis between two great minds. A modern café racer, perfect for the ride from Krefeld (LSL) to Newchurch (Tridays)!
The bike, which has been kept in the classic Tridays colours, is based on the Triumph Bonneville with cast rims. Tridays is famous as the world’s biggest Triumph rally and will celebrate its 5-year anniversary in 2010. Since the Triumph-Hinckley era will be celebrating its 20-year anniversary at the same time, Messrs. Brée & Schmitz-Linkweiler grasped this as a worthy occasion to uncork a bottle (or two) of red wine, sit down in front of a production Bonneville and transform it in their own minds into a modern café racer.
The result was an incredibly versatile overall package with a stylish colour scheme, the classic Tridays logo, coupled with famously aesthetic and functional LSL technology. Remus exhausts, YSS struts and fine details such as an edition number on the engine cover, add the finishing touches to this top-notch machine. In addition to purchasing the bike itself, each proud owner of the Tridays-Edition receives a Tridays Package. This includes a 2-night stay, one of the newly designed shirts from the Tridays collection, a Tridays patch, free participation in guided tours and all entrance charges. (The package is redeemable within three years)

Motorcycle Performance Triumph Bonneville Sixty SE

The Bonneville was first introduced in 1959, although the 1960 Bonneville T120 was commonly regarded as a more handsome creation than the earliest models thanks to its classic blue and grey colour scheme, blade style mudguard and integrated headlamp/instrument nacelle.
This new limited edition Bonneville is inspired by the classic design of the '69 Bonneville. It features the unique Meriden blue/Caspian blue two-tone paint scheme. The distinctive colour scheme combined with a limited supply for the UK of just 120 units will increase this machine's desirability. Each machine will also come with a numbered plaque on the handlebar clamp plus a certificate of authenticity. With only 650 units planned globally.

Built by Associated Motor Cycles? Very good indeed: It was in production and winning trophies from 1948 to 1963. Known as the “Boy Racer”, the 7R won three successive Junior Isle of Man TT races, from 1961 to 63. It was powered (occasionally underpowered, if truth be known) by a 350cc four stroke single, and designed to combat the all-conquering multi-cylinder Italian motorcycles. Which it did, very effectively, in the hands of racers like Ted Havens.

When Ducati released its Corse themed Superbikes at Milan last year, we knew the Italian company was onto something special. With ample carbon fiber, aluminum tanks, and a tasteful amount white and red paint, the Corse livery sets itself apart from the rest of the Ducati line as being the pinnacle of the Italian company’s offering.
So when we saw the “Corse” Multistrada 1200S that took place in Pikes Peak, we were equally excited, and begged Ducati North America to make a race replica model (we’re still begging them by the way). While Ducati might take a little more convincing, some owners have taken things into their own hands. Enter into the picture Finishing Touch 4U’s Ducati Streetfighter Corse. The same paint slingers that made the Martini Ducati 1098S for Ducati North America, Finishing Touch 4U has taken their prowess, and imagined what a Streetfighter done up in the carbon, white, and red livery would look like if Ducati made such a motorcycle. We think the result is gorgeous, and with a Streetfighter sitting in the A&R garage, we’re already getting some very naughty ideas.

Tenere or Ténéré is Tuareg (nomadic people) language for desert. The place Ténéré is a desert area in Niger and Chad in the southern Sahara. Sahara also means desert directly translated from Arabic. So before we start, I’m telling you that this is all about riding in the desert!
To drag the 2008 Yamaha XT660Z Tenere all the way to the actual Ténéré area would have been a step too far on a launch event. So Yamaha decided to make the international launch a rendezvous with Morocco. In 1983 Yamaha launched the original XT600Z Tenere right here in Morocco.

2010 AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building is in second placed Mark Daley of Thunderstruck Custom Bikes. His placing reflects the level of engineering involved in the building of the engine in his entry - Sniper. The Indian Powerplus motor used in the bike has had the inlet and outlet ports reversed, with the heads welded and machined to allow the correct sized valves to be operated by the reverse grind cam.
Pipes multi-piece bolted together, 4 outlets, Titanium ceramic coated. Carbs are Kehin FCR33, downdrafts from a Honda CBR 600. The carburators come out where the exhaust would normally be, and the exhaust where the carb would be - I flipped the valves in the cylinders, leaving their appearance normal, but working backwards; then I had to have a special cam ground to accommodate the modifications, and then had to make a special spigot-style manifold to hold the carbs.
The primary drive is our Thunderstruck 3 belt design with outer bearing support mid controls. Oil tanks, dual gas tanks, electrical, complete billet back bone, billet seat, rocker boxes, cam cover, bars, grips, foot controls, frame vents and sheetmetal work all by Thunderstruck.

Freddie 'Krugger' Bertrand is now wearing the World Champions' ring after being named the 2010 AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building.
The bike with which he claimed the title was built for Veon Motorcycle's owner Peer Toftner and features a unique electronically adjustable frame system developed by Peer in conjunction with Dutch designer Mark van der Kwaak. At the flick of a switch the V-Rod engined bike can be transformed from a low-riding cruiser with long rake to sport bike mode with a shorter wheelbase and steeper rake. The radical machine even has two sets of foot controls to match each style of riding.
Krugger's win in the Championship follows on from third places in both 2004 and 2005, a 13th place in 2008 and another third last year.

Veon Motorcycles is run out of Sarpsborg City in Norway.
Peer Toftner says: "I hold a Masters Degree in Robotics Systems Engineering (1990), and have around 20 years of professional experience within the fields of industrial automation and automotive engineering/R&D. I am the inventor of the Veon Adjustable Motorcycle Concept. I had the idea for this concept back in the mid 90's, and started to work actively with the concept development in 2003. An internal, test-bench, full scale prototype was built and tested by 2005."
"The preliminary engineering phases were carried out in parallel with patent applications, which led to the filing of patents in 2004. Patents were granted in the USA and Norway in 2005. Regarding patents, a new application has been filed in 2010, which opens for a global patent coverage process / pending patents from 2011."
In 2006, the process of designing and engineering the second, Industry-Standard / Concept-Demonstrator / Show-Bike that now has been presented at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building 2010 started. As a first step in this development process, a contractual cooperation with Krugger Motorcycles / Fred Bertrand was established, and shortly thereafter, a similar contractual cooperation was initiated with Mark van der Kwaak of dbbp.com."
"Mark van der Kwaak and myself worked closely together on the basis of the existing patented solutions, and due to Mark's participation, new, and more advanced functionalities for the vehicle adjustment were developed. Mark has also been responsible for all CAD design for the frame / chassis / adjustability mechanisms for the Veon Prototype bike."
"Fred Bertrand has been the designer and builder of the complete Veon Prototype bike. Fred and I decided together to aim for a 70's cafe racer style bike. The Motorcycle Performance Zaeta 530 is Graziano Rossi's take on the perfect bike for bar hopping and flat track racing. This is the production version of the Ouroboros Zaeta prototype we saw last summer, "Ouroboros" seems to have been dropped from its name. The Zaeta's looks will be left up to the customer, who can spec any color for the paint, chassis and other components, as well as the style of the seat unit, but the mechanical components are set in stone. An Italian-made 530cc single-cylinder engine fills up the steel cradle frame and is held up by relatively weedy suspension components. They're all that's necessary as the whole thing weighs just 115kg/253lbs (wet). Graziano and his business partner's are serious about the Zaeta's oval track credentials, included in the €13,500 price tag are two private racing lessons with a champion tracker.

Motorcycle Performance - Ducati 1198S Casey Stoner Phillip Island Replica

Missing three races because of a mystery illness, Casey Stoner put any critics he had from his sudden departure in 2009 to bed with his masterful race at Phillip Island. Racing in front of his home crowd, Stoner slid around the Australian course to a decisive victory, in what we called one of the top races of 2009.
Making the moment even more special for Australian fans, and Ducatisti alike, was the special race livery that Stoner ran for his home race. Hoping to commemorate that race and Stoner’s contributions to the Marlboro Ducati team, a French Ducati dealership in Moulins-lès-Metz has decided to sell a limited number of Casey Stoner Ducati 1198S Phillip Island replicas.
With Bloody’s Paint Forbach paint job worth 1900 euros they’ve also added some top notch Ducati Performance parts and and a full Titanium Ducati Corse 70mm Termignoni exhaust system.
